This is Jaxon!
Last week he had to have an emergency surgery due to his eye having a luxation and having to push his lens back in the correct area. He was diagnosed with retinal atrophy a few years ago which has caused him to go completely blind, and we learned last week he has cataracts and glaucoma. We hoped his surgery would help him and the medicine/eye drops he now has to take. Monday he went for his check up and we noticed he was having discomfort and learned he needed to have another cusion procedure to have the lens pushed back. We learned that even playing, running or rough housing can cause issues with his eyes/lenses.
The next step in making his life better and back to living a fun life is to have a enuculation surgery. As of now he's living a life being sedated almost the whole time and trying to keep him calm so he doesn't get anxious wanting to play and be wild. He's the goodest boy!
If we knew most of this information from the start last week, we would have opted for the enuculation due to having spent almost 2k in vet bills.
He's 7 years old, but still has a lot of life left to live. He still has the heart of a puppy and just wants to play with his lamb chops. I don't want him to be in pain anymore and keep on living a good life.
We financially cannot start this surgery for another 2 months, as the previous vet visits set us back. We just want to start the process and recovery for the enuculation surgery so he can go back to living a life without pain and enjoying everyday!
Our donations are up to $400 and we're hoping to meet our goal quickly for Jaxon! I appreciate anything we can get!
