My name is Carlos Coronel. For the past year, my life has been in chaos—marked by anxiety, pain, and the inability to work or do even the most basic things. I went from doctor to doctor, through public and military hospitals, and finally to a private specialist with costly consultations. Physically limited and with few financial resources, I experienced misdiagnoses from several doctors. Young, inexperienced physicians, a lack of supplies, and missing equipment for necessary tests pushed me to a critical point. I quickly deteriorated both physically and mentally, undergoing expensive treatments that were not right for my condition. I kept relapsing and felt something was very wrong.

Desperate, immobile, and dependent on others, I reached the anticancer society, fearing the worst and afraid of dying. After four previous doctors and exhausting my resources, God put an angel in my path: Dr. Johanna Arias, a specialist in endourology. After gathering enough money for the right tests, the diagnosis finally appeared: an almost complete urinary obstruction. Dr. Arias placed a catheter to relieve the stress on my organs, which had suffered from prolonged strain. This was the source of so much pain. The diagnosis: grade 2 obstructive prostatic growth, requiring urgent HOLEP surgery.

For now, I am living with a permanent catheter until I can have the operation, but I need to act quickly because the catheter brings its own risks. I am prone to urinary infections, which have already occurred due to changing the catheter every 14 days. My pelvic floor, bladder, and urethra are all suffering, and over time, the catheter can cause lasting damage, making it harder to recover normal function. Any contribution, no matter how small, brings me closer to surgery and a normal life. From Caracas, I deeply appreciate your support and blessings.
