Urgent surgery for 3-week newborn in Philipines

Artkent is 3 weeks old and was born with a severe inguinal hernia, meaning part of his intestines is not in place and bulges out to his scrotal sacs due to a weakness in the abdominal walls.

Thus the baby boy urgently needs surgery to fix the hernia which could become life-threatening.

Artkent and his parents live in Siargao, a very small Island in the Philippines, for the most part poverty-stricken and without proper medical institutions. Thus they will need to travel to a major island and stay there during the time of procedure and recovery.

His parents are in a desperate situation since, although they are hardworking people, they cannot pay for this very expensive surgery and related expenses.
