Dear Donors,
Myanmar is in a state of emergency! A devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake has struck, causing buildings to collapse and sink into the ground. People are trapped inside the rubble.
My name is Hmwe Yupar Lwin (Lauren). I am a Former News Anchor at Bloomberg Myanmar Television, Yangon, Myanmar. Myanmar is my home country. I moved to United States and currently living in San Mateo, CA, USA.
I will use all the donations from “Help Myanmar San Francisco” which is always committed to supporting our country and regularly organizing fundraisers. I’m organizing this fundraising effort on behalf of our people.
Countless families have lost their homes and are struggling to find food and shelter. Our citizens are in desperate need of assistance to survive.
Based on latest reports, over 4200 people have lost their lives, with thousands more injured.
It had already been three days since the earthquake, but rescue efforts were severely hindered due to a lack of volunteers and equipment. As a result, many people were still trapped under collapsed buildings, desperately waiting for help.
Myanmar is already suffering from a military coup and an ongoing civil war, adding to the challenges. On the other side, military airstrikes have targeted innocent civilians in villages, worsening the crisis.
Citizens are relying on citizens—we have no other choice. We urgently need your kindly support.
On behalf of the Burmese people, I humbly ask for your help. Every single donation will go directly to the areas most affected by the earthquake, providing essential aid to those in need.
Your generosity can save lives.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and support.
