<div>I am reaching out as a family member to share the devastating story of my niece, Curnissa Sam, and her four beautiful daughters. On April 19, Curnissa became the victim of an unimaginable act of violence after enduring years of domestic abuse. Her spouse shot her eight times, including once in the head, leaving her critically injured and fighting for her life.

<div>Her husband is now incarcerated, leaving her daughters without a father and their mother in the hospital. Curnissa has undergone multiple life-saving surgeries and is beginning the long road to recovery. While she fights to heal, her daughters are in the care of family members who are doing everything possible to provide them with love and stability.

<div>These young girls have endured immense trauma and are now faced with uncertainty as we navigate the challenges ahead. They need immediate support for daily living expenses—food, clothing, and other essentials—while we also prepare for the substantial costs of Curnissa’s lengthy rehabilitation journey.

<div>This tragedy has devastated our family, but it has also strengthened our resolve to help Curnissa and her children find a path forward. However, we cannot do this alone. We need the support of our community to help them through this dark time.
