La guerre nous a fait payer un lourd tribut : nous avons perdu la maison de nos ancêtres, notre résidence actuelle a subi des dommages importants, nous avons perdu des êtres chers et nos rêves ont été anéantis. Chaque contribution nous aide à couvrir les frais d'évacuation, les frais juridiques pour les visas et les possibilités d'éducation pour nos frères, garantissant ainsi la sécurité et les perspectives d'avenir de notre famille. <div><strong>Our Story</strong>

<div>My name is Hani, and I am reaching out from Belgium, where I am safe but my family in Gaza is not. My heart remains with them, alongside my brother Ahmed, who is enduring the crisis with our family. We never imagined a day would come when we would need to seek your support through this GoFundMe campaign to bring our family to safety and provide them with an opportunity for a better future. However, the harsh and dangerous living conditions in Gaza have forced us into this situation, surpassing all expectations. The funds raised will be crucial for covering the costs of crossing borders, coordination fees, transportation, and ensuring a semblance of stability in Egypt for the initial months.

<div><strong>The Family’s Situation in Ahmed’s Words</strong>

<div>Five months into the war, I've come to realise that we need more than just one heart to bear all this devastation and more than one set of eyes to cry and mourn without restraint. Since the war began, disasters have continuously befallen us without respite.

</div>

<div>We (my parents, myself, my brothers Mohammed, Salah and Mahdi, my sisters Shimaa and Walaa, my niece Mariam and my nephews Mahdi and Mohammed) have been displaced over thirteen times if my memory serves me right in recounting these instances. But my memory is even more adept at recalling the nights filled with cold and fear, fleeing from death, and emerging from the rubble with my family over and over again.

<div>And each time that we miraculously survived, we lost a part of us, a piece of our hearts.

</div>

<div>My mother, who lost her sister, nephews, and nieces, experienced a shocking blow. On the same day, she lost more than forty martyrs from her brothers' children and their offspring.

</div>

<div>The latest loss was my cousin, an esteemed teacher and mentor to many. Amid the severe crisis and famine here in the north, he went in search of flour to feed his children and family but never returned, meeting his demise instead.

</div>

<div>All of these losses didn't give us a chance to grieve properly or look at everything with a hopeful eye.

</div>

<div>My father's health was already deteriorating due to chronic illnesses and recurrent strokes before the war. During the conflict, his condition worsened, having memory loss more often, and I suspect he has suffered another stroke (though we can't diagnose it due to the lack of medical staff in Gaza and overall lack of proper healthcare services). In war, cases are evaluated based on the priority of preserving life, without considering that the case being evaluated is a father with children who have big dreams.

<div>My sister Shimaa, who has two little moons in the form of children, and a third born amid the war in harsh conditions that are beyond imagination, named Mohammad, symbolising our relatives and friends. This third child was born displaced from his home, in the biting cold, and now, two and a half months later, he still hasn't received the appropriate vaccinations like normal children do.

<div>Those speaking to you now were not born as superheroes; they are ordinary humans. We go to our jobs, others go to learn, and we gather in the evening to talk about what the ordinary days bring us.

<div>During the war, the universities where my siblings study and my father works were destroyed, and the jobs of my other siblings, who work in information technology, vanished into thin air.

</div>

<div>All these events have had a physical and psychological impact on the family. My mother lost weight alongside losing more than eighty people from her family, her sisters. My father lost his health, overwhelmed by grief.

</div>

<div>My brothers and sisters lost what they lost, alongside surviving various incidents during the war, and others from the starving predators on the streets.

</div>

<div>Therefore, it takes more than one heart and mind to comprehend and endure what transpired during the war.

<div><strong>Our Goals</strong>

</div>

<div>Our immediate goal is to secure the safety and well-being of our family in Egypt. For our parents, we plan to navigate the complex process of securing visas for them to come to Belgium, where I can provide the care and support they desperately need. I am tirelessly working to secure visas and the necessary support to ensure they can receive the medical care they desperately need.

</div>

<div>For my siblings, once they are settled in Egypt, our goal is to secure scholarships that will allow them to continue their education and rebuild their futures. We are also committed to ensuring that my sister and her children are safe and sound in Egypt, away from the dangers they currently face.

<div>اسمي هاني، وأنا أتواصل معكم من بلجيكا حيث أنا في أمان ولكن عائلتي ليسوا كذلك في غزة. قلبي معهم إلى جانب أخي أحمد، الذي يتحمل الأزمة مع عائلتنا، لم يكن في الحسبان أن يأتي اليوم الذي نطلب فيه دعمكم من خلال هذه الحملة على GoFundMe لجلب عائلتنا إلى مكان آمن وفرصة لمستقبل أفضل، ولكن الظروف المعيشية السيئة والخطرة في غزة أقوى من كل شيئ. ستكون الأموال المجمعة حاسمة لتغطية تكاليف عبور الحدود، رسوم التنسيق، النقل، وضمان نوع من الاستقرار في مصر للأشهر الأولى.

<div><strong>وضع العائلة في كلمات أحمد</strong>

<div>بعد مرور خمسة أشهر من الحرب، أدركت تماماً انه يلزمنا أكثر من قلب لنحمل الخراب هذا كُله، وأكثر من عين كي تبكي وتحزن دون أي اعتبارات.

</div>

<div>منذ بداية الحرب إلى اليوم، توالت علينا الكوارث دون كللٍ أو ملل.

</div>

<div>نزحنا (أنا ووالديَّ واخواني محمد، صلاح ومهدي وأخواتي شيماء وولاء وأبناء أختي: مريم، مهدي ومحمد) أكثر من ثلاثة عشر مرة إن اسعفتني الذاكرة في تذكر هذه المرات.. لكنها تسعفني أكثر في تذكّر ليالي البرد والخوف، والهروب من الموت والخروج من تحت الركام أنا وعائلتي في كل مرة.

<div>وفي كل مرة نجونا فيها مصادفةً كنّا نخسر جزءً منّا، من قلوبنا.

</div>

<div>أمي التي فقدت أختها وبنات أختها وأحفاد أختها، كانت بمثابة صدمة مفجعة لها، وفي نفس اليوم فقدت أكثر من أربعون شهيدًا من أبناء اخوتها واحفادهم.

</div>

<div>وآخرهم كان ابن أخيها، المعلّم ومخرّج الأجيال.. الذي ومع اشتداد الأزمة والمجاعة هنا في الشمال، ذهب باحثًا عن طحين يسد فيه جوع أطفاله وعائلته ولم يعود، ومات.

</div>

<div>جميع ما ذكر، لم يعطينا الفُسحة المناسبة كي لا نحزن، أو أن ننظر إلى كل شيء بعين الأمل.

</div>

<div>أبي، من قبل الحرب ووضعه الصحي متردي بسبب الأمراض المزمنة والجلطات المتكررة.. وفي الحرب أبي ينسى كثيرًا وأعتقد أن لديه جلطة جديدة (لكن لا نستطيع تشخيصها بسبب عدم وجود طاقم صحي في غزة) وعدم توفر الخدمات الصحية السليمة اجمالاً. ففي الحرب يتم تقييم الحالات على اعتبار الأولوية في الحفاظ على الحياة دون أي اعتبارات أخرى.. دون النظر أن الحالة التي يتم تقييمها هي حالة أب لديه أبناء بأحلام كبيرة.

<div>أختي شيماء، والتي لديها قمرين على هيئة أطفال.. وثالثٌ أتى في الحرب في البرد القارص، في ظروف أصعب من أن يتصورها العقل. وُلد محمد وسُمي كذلك تيمنًا بأقرباء لنا، وأصدقاء.. ولد الطفل الثالث وهو نازح من بيته، في البرد القارص، واليوم يمُر على ولادته الشهرين والنصف، ولم يحظى بعد بالتطعيمات المناسبة مثله مثل الأطفال العاديون.

<div>الذين يحدثونكم الآن، لم يولدوا أبطال خارقين، هم بشر عاديون، نذهب إلى وظائفنا والآخر يذهب ليتعلم، ونجتمع مساءًا لنتحدث عن ما تفعله بنا الأيام العادية.

<div>وفي الحرب، دُمرت الجامعات التي يدرس بها اخوتي ويعمل بها أبي، وذهبت وظائف الجزء الآخر من اخوتي في مهب الرياح خصوصًا وأن قطاعات عملهم في مجال تكنولوجيا المعلومات.

<div>جميع هذه المحطات انعكست نفسيًا وجسديًا على العائلة، أمي خسرت وزنها بجانب أكثر من ثمانون شخصًا من عائلتها. أبي خسر صحته، والهمُّ أكل قلبه.

<div>أخوتي وأخواتي، خسروا ما خسروا.. بجانب نجاتهم جميعًا في أحداث مختلفة من الحرب، وأخرى من الجائعون المفترسون في شوارع المدينة.

<div>لذلك كان يلزم أكثر من قلب، وعقل.. لاستيعاب ما يجري ودار في الحرب.

<div>هدفنا الفوري هو تأمين سلامة ورفاهية عائلتنا في مصر. لوالدينا، نخطط للتنقل عبر العملية المعقدة لتأمين التأشيرات لهم للقدوم إلى بلجيكا، حيث يمكنني توفير الرعاية والدعم الذي يحتاجانه بشدة. أنا أعمل بلا كلل لتأمين التأشيرات والدعم اللازم لضمان حصولهم على الرعاية الطبية التي يحتاجونها بشدة.
