We, as two parents, are currently experiencing feelings of sadness and fear. We are reaching out to our family and friends to request assistance during this challenging time.

Mid last year, Mia's paediatric checkup led to a referral to an ENT due to her ear tubes still being intact, necessitating surgical removal to prevent hearing complications.

At that time, we were without health insurance and unable to bear the financial burden. In early 2025, we joined Aetna, which offers comprehensive coverage, and sought a second opinion on Mia's condition. The second ENT confirmed the urgency of the procedure, as Mia currently has perforated eardrums and a stuck tube causing discomfort and pain, with the risk of potential hearing loss if left untreated. Fortunately, our insurance covers 90% of the procedure which we are grateful for, but we did not anticipate the co-pay, deductible, and facility charges totalling around $1500.

While this may not seem significant to some, it is a substantial amount for us at this time. Mia is scheduled for surgery on April 7th at Fairfax Surgical Centre per the ENT's recommendations, however we need to settle the facility charges and deductible before the day or surgery.

As parents striving to establish a future in the USA, we hesitantly ask for any donations to help cover the remaining amount and ensure Mia's timely procedure without further delay. Your support would be wholeheartedly and gratefully appreciated.
