<div>7 years ago, I came to New Orleans looking for a fresh start, and this city has become my home.

<div>I've built a life here, friends, community, and a place where my menagerie and I feel safe.

<div>But of course, right now I'm in a tight situation.

<div>There was a payment for my mortgage that was made in April by another party that I am in partnership with, and I thought that everything was fine. But the payment didn't clear, and I wasn't informed of that fact until the next payment was due. Imagine my shock.

</div>

<div>I was able to cover the May and June payments, but I still had the other payment hanging over my head. The other party gave me a partial payment, but if I'm covering the whole other payment, where was I supposed to find the missing money?

</div>

</div>

<div>I was trying to hold on till my finances got better in the fall, and I would be able to pay the deficit.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>But then here came July. And it was financially horrible for me. And now I'm on the hook for 2 months, and the mortgage company says that the only way I can get current is by sending the 2 past months plus the current month. And there's honestly no way I can do that in the time I have.

</div>

<div>So this is my story. It's truly hard for me to ask for help, but <strong>if the menagerie and I are going to stay in our home, we need help.</strong>

<div><strong>If you could give anything at all, it would mean the world to me.</strong> Every little bit gets me closer to getting back on track.
