This is Zen. She is my 4-year-old doctor-prescribed service dog. She warns me of the onset of a medical attack and helps me through it.
We live in an Illinois nursing home, which I fought legally for the rights of the disabled and enforcement of ADA law.
Zen has stopped eating 7 days ago and is in pain. I get $60 monthly from my income. I've been to two veterinary clinics looking for a diagnosis and treatment. The first, a rescue, kindly paid for a blood exam. The second, which allegedly had a charity, only provided hydration and nausea injections. Both refused to diagnose the issue or to offer further treatment. Why? Because I rely on social security in a nursing home and this does not qualify for credit.
Please help save Zen's life.
