<div>Most people know and love this man. We have been married for 47 years and I can tell you it’s not always been easy. But there’s always been love.As some of you know, a year ago he suffered a major stroke. His left arm is flaccid and disconnected from the shoulder. He can’t move it at all, and for a woodworker, that’s a mental death sentence. The orthopedist told him, “If you get tired of it hanging there, we can chop it off.” He doesn’t drink smoke or do drugs, but was told for years his BP &amp; cholesterol were high, yet they never dug deeper. If they had asked for the test they’d have found he had a genetic disorder called Factor V Leiden which causes blood clots. All of this could have been avoided.

<div>Friday he fell at home and broke his hip and had to have surgery.
</div>
<div>he had a titanium rod inserted into the bone from hip to knee.
</div>
<div>Now. We are facing months of rehabilitation.
</div>
<div>Kevin was the most talented man you could meet. Friends would come to him first with construction issues, try to play “stump the carpenter,” and say he could build the Taj Mahal out of toothpicks. His love, apart from his family, and playing with our 9 grandchildren, was working with wood.
</div>
<div>He is also suffering from drop foot on his left leg, which turns his foot down, and TONE, which turns it in, so walking is next to impossible. Basically, he’s wheelchair-bound, and many days he is fuzzy in his thoughts, struggling just to move.

<div>In the aftermath, we’ve lost our means of income, having to shut the business down and getting next to nothing from the equipment he’d worked so hard to purchase.
</div>

<div>I am unable to work because I have to take care of him: feeding, bathing, bathroom, medication, dressing, and transportation to the doctors. And yet he was turned down by Medicare for disability as they tend to do.
</div>

<div>We are now on a small social security income, and our landlord has decided to raise our rent far beyond what we can afford, giving us just a few weeks to get out.
</div>

</div>
<div>To add insult to injury, our car broke down, needing $1600 in repairs, and now I don’t have transportation to find anywhere to go or get him to his doctor. I have recently had to have cancer removed and am requiring another procedure this week.
</div>

<div>We have always tried to be self-sufficient, but the money has always been a little tight, so we don’t have any remaining savings or anything left to sell.
</div>

<div>I'm 66, he’s 67 and disabled, and now we have to move immediately. <strong>We need help.</strong>

<div>Kevin and I understand that it’s been tough financially for everyone lately, and charity has always been something he’s given to, not taken.
</div>

<div>He taught a children’s workshop for single-parent kids, he’s taught technical school kids a woodworking trade, he’s built buildings for Love A Child in Haiti, and a church in Grenada, and always donated his time whenever anyone needed help. Now he can’t walk, move his arm, or even cut his own food.

<div><strong>Please help contribute so we can locate somewhere to go and get help moving.</strong> To say we are desperate is so disheartening, but unfortunately, our life has spiraled into desperation. I’m scared, I don’t know what to do so we don’t end up on the street.
</div>
<div>I have contacted every aid agency in our area and none have any housing or assistance available.
