This morning at roughly 10am, I was awoken by the sound of fire alarms. When I opened my eyes, I couldn't breathe or see because the smoke filling my house was so thick. My downstairs neighbor was frying food when he decided to leave the house, leaving the stove unattended. Of course, this started a huge fire, and my apartment being right on top of his, all the smoke went straight into my apartment. I jumped up, grabbed my dog Milly, and ran outside. I was wearing nothing but my sleep shirt, no pants or shoes.

After the fire was put out, I went into my apartment escorted by the fire department. I was able to grab shoes, but the damage to my apartment is so great that I'm facing a total loss. All of my cherished belongings will forever smell like smoke, and my clothes, furniture, and comfort items will have to be thrown away and replaced.

On top of this, I have nowhere to stay. The fire department is putting us in a hotel for 2 days, but after that, I don't know where I'll go. I have no clothes, and my dog Milly has no dog food. If you're able to give anything, it would be greatly appreciated. All money will go to hotels, clothes, and food for me and my dog.
