Less than a week ago, we rescued Darby, a gentle and beautiful German Shepherd, from the euthanasia list. Despite just entering our care, Darby has already faced a series of challenges. She was placed in temporary boarding and shortly after began showing signs of illness—sneezing, green nasal discharge, and very little appetite.
We rushed her to the vet, where they ran tests. Thankfully, the test came back negative for Parvo, but she is still battling a respiratory illness. The vet provided antibiotics and an appetite stimulant to help her recover. This visit alone cost us $200 + $40 in transportation, both necessary but unexpected expenses.
To help ease costs and give her a more comforting environment, we had a temporary foster lined up. Unfortunately, due to the risk of illness spreading, the foster backed out—leaving us no option but to keep Darby in boarding until her transport to Colorado in a few weeks, unless we can find another temporary foster. Boarding adds up quickly, and we urgently need support to cover both her boarding fees, medical care, and help with her transportation to CO ($600).
Darby deserves to feel safe, loved, and supported while she heals and waits for her forever home. If you can donate even a small amount or share this fundraiser, it would make a world of difference.
Thank you so much for helping us give Darby the second chance she truly deserves.
