Urgent Help for Bobby Brinkley's Housing Crisis

My name is Bobby Brinkley, and I'm 67 years old, almost 68, and my wife and I are homeless. Many of you may have read one or more of the several articles in the Winston-Salem Journal about me and my land located at 9001 Broad Street in Rural Hall. For those of you who haven't, I was fighting a developer who wanted to buy my land and force me off. On October 10th of last year, while I was walking to the bowling alley from my camper (which is a short distance), I was hit by a Chevy 1500 and the trailer it was pulling. It broke almost every bone on my left side and left me without the use of my left arm, which is more than likely going to have to be amputated.

Long story short, the developer won, and I unfortunately lost. So, on April 16th of this year, my wife and I were sadly evicted with only the clothes on our backs. We tried two different times to reach out to the LLC that got my land to retrieve our belongings and were railroaded both times. So, unfortunately, the time came, and a crew came and destroyed our camper and all of our belongings. Which brings me to the reason why I'm starting this fundraiser. Since then, my wife and I have used what little I get for S.S. Retirement each month for motel rooms, but we don't bring in enough to keep us in one for an entire month. Sadly, that is the case yet again this month. We can't afford to pay a security deposit, first month's rent, and deposits for the utilities to be able to rent a permanent place as quickly as we need. We are being thrown off of my son-in-law's land, where we have only been for about a week, but we have been staying outside and out of anyone's way. With all of my health issues, I can no longer tolerate the heat, and it's just getting hotter by the day. We're just asking for help to get in a cheap motel room until I get my social security check on the first of July. We would also greatly appreciate any help finding a place for rent and help with the deposits.
