Urgent Help for Birth (not covered for pregnancy)

Donation protected
Hi friends,

Firstly, thank you for reading our cause. My name is Eve.
My husband, Samuel and I met in Canada in 2018. I’m Canadian and my husband is a New Zealander. We moved to Australia in March 2019 and got married. It was the most beautiful day of our life.  We love living in Australia; it is a beautiful country. We were so excited to start a family together; we knew it would take around 3 years for me to be covered for pregnancy in Australia due to our immigration status. Our plan was for me to fly to New Zealand a couple months before my due date, I will be fully covered there as a New Zealand partner. Also, my husband’s loving family lives there and will be great support during the first month.
My husband is a tradesman and I’m unable to work due to my VISA restrictions, therefore paying for the birth in Australia was never an option for our financial situation.

Unfortunately, I had 3 miscarriages because I have a Septate uterus, which can make keeping baby in the womb difficult in the first trimester.  After all this I lost hope.

Sometime, in August of 2020 I got a positive pregnancy test, I was really hopeless and thought it will end in a miscarriage again. The first trimester was stressful; I had so much bleeding for over a month. I was sure I lost the baby! BUT to my surprise I had a scan at 9 weeks and bubba was just fine.

Now I’m 23 weeks, I can’t believe it! We are blessed with a miracle baby girl. My Due date is April 20, 2021.

Due to the unpredictable COVID restrictions, I am extremely nervous that I can’t fly to New Zealand quarantine free. The borders might be quarantine free next year! And there is a good chance they will close again if there is community transfer. You might be asking, why not quarantine for 2 weeks? The cost to quarantine is $3100 + $900 for each additional person. A cost we cannot afford on top of high airline costs. Also, my husband who is a carpenter would lose his job in Australia. Which would be devastating, there is no option for him to quarantine. He is only able to take a maximum of 1-week off work.

The COVID situation is so unpredictable and we simply cannot afford going under quarantine. Also, the situation might change; my husband and I might get separated for a long period, or he may lose his job if suddenly it is required to quarantine on the way there or back. Also, there is a chance that baby might come 1 month earlier due to my septate uterus. Therefore, I really can’t rely on the assumption that borders might open.

The estimates I have received from 2 hospitals are $11,000 for non-complicated vaginal birth or $20,000 for non-complicated C-section. My goal is to raise as at least $20,000; thankfully baby is covered in Australia because my husband is a New Zealand citizen and they have a reciprocal health agreement.
IF there are any funds left over, we will donate it to New Life Baptist Church on the Sunshine Coast. 9 Sydal Street, Little Mountain.

We have looked at every option and spoke to immigration for guidance etc. Unfortunately, there is not much we could do and this is our last resort. We really appreciate the support we can get during this stressful period.
