Urgent Help for Benito's Medical Crisis

Donation protected
July of this year my family came down with Covid, while my kids and I recovered within a few days, Benito didn’t. He has had a lingering cough since then that has not gone away. Over the last few days he has became very sick, has had trouble breathing & great pain in his lungs & back. I brought him to the ER yesterday where they diagnosed him with double lung pneumonia with fluid around his lungs. He came home with 2 an antibiotics & the hopes he would recover soon. This morning I was woke at 8 AM by a faint yelling. I quickly jumped out of bed and found they need to on the floor on the side of our bed, he felt like he couldn’t breathe. He said he couldn’t move his legs, and he was very delusional not knowing where he was or what was going on. I brought him to his doctors who then sent him to the ER. We got to the ER and they immediately put him on oxygen started IVs and then over the last 10 hours compiled several tests and cultures. Benito, as I previously stated has pneumonia in both lungs with fluid around his heart and lungs, they also found today he has an abscess in his lung, his blood sugar was also around 700 and despite his insulin pump and having an insulin drip, is coming down a lot slower than they would like. He can’t walk, his legs are like jello, his body is having uncontrollable shakes, his blood pressure has been dangerously low & he is too critical to continue care at our local hospital. Marquette did accept him, however they don’t have a bed available so he’s going to St Mary’s in Green Bay. He’s waiting for a med flight crew to become available then they are immediately shipping him out. This is the sickest I’ve ever seen him and the most scared I’ve ever been.
I am the only breadwinner in the family. I am a very hard worker who provides solely to care for my family, bills & all of our needs. They don’t know how long he will be in Green Bay as he has to have a chest tube inserted to remove some of the fluid, and he has to have surgery to remove the abscess from his lung. I am looking to raise enough money so myself and my two kids can go be with him during this trying time. Hotel & gas. We can bring snacks, make sandwiches or reach out to someone down there. It’s just the holidays Thursday and they didn’t have a social worker for me to talk to until Monday.
I don’t need no hate, no judgment no ridicule, like I said I am a very hard worker. I just didn’t have an emergency fund for something like this, I don’t have credit cards to use or any other means. This just goes to show no matter how old or young you are, life can change in a split second and you always need to be prepared and I know I learned my lesson going forward.
Even prayers will help. Please pray for Benito for his kids for myself and that he makes a full recovery and comes back home to us soon.
