I am a Black trans woman who relocated to Chicago for safety, moving from Tennessee where there are no protections for people like me. I came here hoping to find a safe haven and to further my goals for my transition, but the challenges have been overwhelming. I have no immediate support, and my family’s hyper-religious beliefs mean they do not accept my gender identity or lifestyle. Coming from a background of poverty, I am now facing urgent threats to my safety and well-being.

Recently, my car began breaking down, and the check engine light came on. I suspect it was tampered with, as I woke up to find my gas cap removed. These incidents have made me feel unsafe in my neighborhood, and I am desperate to move somewhere I can find community, hope, and support from people who understand what I am going through.

Your help will allow me to end my lease, repair my car, relocate to a safer neighborhood, and further my transition. These funds will also support my overall wellbeing, giving me the chance to heal and thrive in a place where I feel uplifted and protected. Please, support and protect the dolls at all costs. We are truly in a time of need, and together, we can create a safer, more hopeful future for everyone in our community.
