Urgent: Help a young Gazan nurse to achieve her dream

Donation protected
Hello, I'm here to help my friend, and here's her story:

I am Israa, a nurse from Gaza, Palestine. I graduated a year ago and, unfortunately, began my career as a trainee nurse amidst the terrible conditions in what was once the beautiful city of Gaza.

Since October 7, 2023, horrific airstrikes have been massacring innocent Gazans and obliterating homes, public places, hospitals, churches, and mosques without warning. Everything has turned to ash and rubble.

This is what the street I live on looks like now.

On the first day of the attacks, I had to evacuate my home, leaving northern Gaza for the south. Since that day, I have been homeless. Imagine leaving everything you own behind and running for your life—that's what we went through. My family and I currently live in a tent in the Deir al-Balah area, which barely protects us from the cold nights and scorching desert days. We struggle to find our daily needs, such as water and food. Each passing day, we count on the hope that a ceasefire will come soon. I fervently pray for that day.

I was working in the emergency department at Al-Shifa Hospital, dealing with thousands of injuries caused by rockets and missiles. My sole purpose was to save lives. I stayed at Al-Shifa Hospital for 20 grueling days, barely finding a moment to rest.

My brother, who worked as a nurse in the children's nursery, and I had to leave Al-Shifa Hospital, but we felt it was our duty to continue treating the wounded. We went to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital until military tanks surrounded it at the end of February. Now, we work from inside a tent, which is far from adequate for the number of patients we receive.

During my nursing studies, I utilized my computer skills to become financially independent through freelancing websites. However, I've lost my laptop, and access to the internet is rare. Every day, I walk 5 miles and climb a hill surrounded by tents to find a semi-usable internet connection.

My wish is to continue my studies and obtain a master’s degree in emergency nursing, perhaps in Germany or another foreign country. I am passionate and committed to advancing my career, but the current circumstances in Gaza are daunting. I need $7,000 to leave Gaza and take standardized tests such as the NCLEX-PN and NCLEX-RN. Additionally, I must cover visa fees, flight costs, accommodation, registration fees, and verification fees to start my career abroad

My dream is not easy to reach, but with your help, it can become a reality. Your generosity will bring me closer to my dream, and I will sincerely appreciate any donation, no matter how small. Please consider sharing my campaign with your friends and family. I will be forever grateful for your kindness during this difficult time.

Thank you.
