Dear all,

My name is Vishnu Vardhan Anuboyina, a master's student at SUNY Albany from Hyderabad, Telangana, India. I am reaching out with a heavy heart to share the plight of my wife, Valipireddy Preethi, who is facing a critical health crisis. We were married last year, and shortly after, I moved to the U.S. on an F1 student visa for my studies, followed by my wife on an F2 visa in January 2024.

Unfortunately, about 15 days ago, Preethi experienced blurred vision. We sought medical help at Vision Care in Glenmont Walmart, where the ophthalmologist discovered fluid on her retina and recommended seeing a retinal specialist. Without insurance, securing an appointment became a challenge. We then consulted a retired Indian eye surgeon who identified her symptoms as resulting from Malignant Hypertension, with a dangerously high blood pressure of 220/160. This led us to Dr. Bhoiwala in East Greenbush, who, after some tests, urgently directed us to Albany Memorial Campus of Samaritan Hospital due to her critically high creatinine levels.

Preethi's condition rapidly deteriorated, leading to multiple hospital transfers and intensive treatments, including dialysis and a kidney biopsy at Samaritan Hospital, Troy, followed by further care at St. Peters Hospital in Albany. She now requires permanent dialysis and is awaiting a kidney transplant, which could take up to three years.

The medical expenses are daunting, estimated over $200,000 Despite having health insurance, it falls significantly short of covering the treatments. In this desperate time, we are appealing to the kindness of our community, local organizations, and all who are able to help. Your contributions are not just donations but a lifeline for Preethi.
