<div>My name is Charles Schiell, and along with Nikki Walla, Margery Tran, and other friends, we have come together to start this fundraiser for <strong>Shira Roman, her mother, and their little dog Rocky</strong>, who tragically lost their home today, January 8th, 2025, in the Pacific Palisades, CA fire.

<div>Shira is the sole caregiver for her mother, who suffers from Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia. Shira is kind, selfless, and compassionate, always striving to provide the best quality of life for her mom, who is battling one of the most challenging neurodegenerative diseases, and her mom's furry companion, Rocky. We can't imagine how overwhelming it must be to lose everything while already caring for a loved one with significant medical needs. <strong>We want to support her during this incredibly difficult time especially when she, and many fire victims like her, had their fire insurance cancelled on them just a few months ago.</strong>

<div>Thankfully, they evacuated early to a hotel and are currently safe from the ongoing blaze. However, they still face the daunting task of securing both short-term and permanent housing, as well as replacing essential belongings.
