Edit: 1:14am 11/21
I made the decision last night to let my boy cross the rainbow bridge. His lacerations were simple but his femur was completely out of socket and wouldn’t stay in and at his ripe age of 16, surgery was not a fair choice for him. I prayed before we left that I would have clarity in how he was meant to go, and that’s exactly what happened.
My husband said it best: “At least he’s not missing, and you have no idea where he is.” He’s right. Though Zorro had a dislocated leg, he made it home to me. I was able to get him help quickly, and he wasn’t in pain for long. I stayed with him until his heart stopped, and I am so thankful I could be there in his final moments.
Donations will help cover tonight’s vet bill and cremation costs. Thank you for your kindness during this difficult time.
Not as tough as he once was! Please help Zorro! He was attacked tonight on our property. If you’ve had the pleasure of knowing my sweet Zorro, you know he LIVES to be an indoor/outdoor kitty! He is usually very smart, agile and stays very close to home.
This evening around 7:00 I found him in Westins play area unable to stand and crying. My heart is in pieces for my baby, I just need to figure out what to do next. He has lacerations on his two back legs but no other visible injuries. I am unable to qualify again for care credit for this visit because I JUST applied for my emergency root canal 13 days ago. Vet wants to do xray to see what’s going on with his pelvis and to try to determine why he cannot stand. After X-rays are done we will determine what needs to be done next. I am unsure if I will proceed with invasive procedures- he is 16 years old.
