<div>The International Association to Save Tyre (AIST) is an NGO that has been a partner of UNESCO for forty years, with national committees based in major capitals around the world. It implements its projects in collaboration with the Lebanese Committee to Save Tyre (CLST), and is dedicated to preserving the unique cultural heritage and promoting the sustainable development of Tyre and its region.

<div><strong>Les Ateliers de Tyr: A Beacon of Hope</strong>
</div>
<div>In September 2017, the CLST inaugurated "Les Ateliers de Tyr" in Tyre region — a craft village built according to international ecological standards. Its goal is to revive ancestral Phoenician craftsmanship and create jobs by providing women and people with reduced mobility with a profession and the opportunity to learn a skill.
</div>
<div>The village has become a destination after launching training in eight workshops: recycled and borosilicate glassblowing, pottery, jewelry-making, painting, screen printing, sewing, and food processing. It has also welcomed nearly forty-five thousand visitors, including five thousand students who received various forms of training in artisanal trades. These workshops are not only a symbol of cultural resilience but also an economic pillar for more than sixty families in the region who, thanks to this project, are able to meet their essential needs.

<div>The recent war against Lebanon has caused unprecedented destruction, inflicting severe damage to Les Ateliers de Tyr. This village, once a vibrant center for skill development and heritage preservation, is now largely destroyed. This tragedy threatens the livelihoods of local artisans and brings essential community initiatives to a standstill, leaving local populations without vital support.

<div>L’Association Internationale pour la Sauvegarde de Tyr (AIST), est une ONG partenaire de l’UNESCO depuis quarante ans avec un nombre de comités nationaux répartis dans les grandes capitales du monde. Elle met en œuvre ses projets en collaboration avec le Comité Libanais pour la Sauvegarde de Tyr-Liban (CLST), et se consacre à la préservation du patrimoine culturel unique et le développement durable de Tyr et sa région.

<div><strong>Les Ateliers de Tyr : Un phare d’espoir</strong>

<div>Le CLST a inauguré en septembre 2017, dans la région de Tyr, « Les Ateliers de Tyr », 
</div>
<div>un village de l’artisanat construit dans les normes écologiques internationales, dont l’objectif est de faire revivre l’artisanat ancestral phénicien et créer des emplois en assurant aux femmes et aux personnes à mobilité réduite, un métier, l’apprentissage d’un savoir-faire. 
</div>
<div>Le Village, est devenu une destination après avoir lancé la formation dans 8 ateliers : le soufflage du verre recyclé et du verre borosilicate, la poterie, la bijouterie, la peinture, la sérigraphie, la couture et l’agro-alimentaire. Il a aussi accueilli près de quarante-cinq mille visiteurs, dont cinq mille étudiants qui ont reçu des formations diverses dans les métiers d’art. Ces ateliers ne sont pas seulement un symbole de la résilience culturelle, mais aussi un pilier économique pour plus de soixante familles de la région qui, grâce à ce projet, trouvent les moyens de subvenir à leurs besoins essentiels.

<div>La récente guerre contre le Liban a causé des destructions d'une ampleur inédite, infligeant des ravages considérables aux Ateliers de Tyr. Ce Village, autrefois cœur battant du développement des compétences et de la préservation du patrimoine, est aujourd’hui en grande partie détruit. Cette tragédie met en péril les moyens de subsistance des artisans et paralyse des initiatives communautaires essentielles pour les populations locales.
