Urgent Bond- Help Save a Father of 4 from being deported

The last three months have been a roller coaster. My husband, Javier Hernandez, was picked up by ICE while working in Soda Springs, Idaho in a Mexican restaurant. I had just come back home to Kemmerer, Wyoming, which is a 3 hour round trip from Idaho Springs. That’s when I got the call that Immigration had taken Javier.

I quickly grabbed my girls and drove to the restaurant in Soda Springs. I was then told that ICE had taken Javier to Idaho Falls, a 2 hour drive with crying girls in the car not understanding why they took their father. They asked if cops took their dad and I told them “no”. How do I explain the difference between a cop and ICE agent?

We then went to Rigby, Idaho where they had taken Javier. We got a hotel close by to be able to see him the next day, only to find out that they had taken him early that morning to another facility. Our family was devastated. My girls didn’t even get to say goodbye to their father that morning because we left early and they were still sleeping. My girls were crying because they didn’t know that was the last time they were going to see their dad. Not knowing what else to do I drove back home, about 4 hours. As soon as I got back home and tried to calm my girls down I realized that rent was due the following week. Then it was one thing after another as my vehicle broke down.
We hired a couple of lawyers to help my husband in Tacoma, Washington since that is where he was taken. I didn’t know anyone over there to help so I had to get online and try to find one fast and guess if they were good lawyers. The first one charged us $600 just to go see him. We tried calling the lawyer and would not answer, until she finally told us that if we needed a lawyer with more time she was not the right lawyer for us. So there went $600.
We got a second lawyer for $1,500. Between lawyer fees and gathering letters from our community, work, rent, bills, food, a broken down vehicle, and a crying 3 year old begging for me not to go to work it has been very difficult. My daughter cries that she won’t ask for anything else if I don’t go to work because all she wants is her mommy since she doesn’t know why her dad is in jail. I tell her that daddy is not in jail, he is in a detention center. I am not sure how to explain to my 3 year old that the reason her father is there is because he was born in another country.
The last lawyer just went to my husband’s bond hearing. We drove back down to Tacoma to be there with him thanks to a lot of amazing people who helped us raise enough money to get there. When we were got to the facility we asked to visit Javier without a window. I wanted my girls to have the chance to hug their dad and say a proper goodbye. Nothing I said could convince them to say yes. I told them we drove 15 hours to get there and begged them but they still said no.
I tried to keep it together for my girls but this time my emotions got the better of me and I just started crying. Javier is being detained because he is from Mexico, not because he is a criminal. To ask for a proper goodbye with a hug didn’t seem like too much to ask.
Our family would appreciate your help and support to reach our goal in raising 2,500  to bring a Father and husband home to our family. If we can raise enough money to post bond we might have a chance at bringing Javier home. Anything can help us get closer to our goal. We want to have Javier home for Christmas. My children don’t want presents for Christmas, all they want is for daddy to be back home and to stay together as a family forever. WE really appreciate anything you can help with, even just a prayer.

Thanks,
The Hernandez Family
