Eviction notice+bills after severe workplace injury w/ crushed and fractured arm/wrists
That was me about a year ago in February at 22. I definitely wouldn't be smiling back then if I knew what was coming for me at the end of 2025. My right arm was caught in a malfunctioning machine at my work and crushed, ripped open, fractured at the elbow. My other hand got sucked in when I tried to get out since the emergency stops were all out of reach after my workplace had a renovation done months prior. Workers' comp didn't start till almost a month and a half after that accident on November 25th. I got behind on rent and I had told my landlord about the injury. I was then in a car accident on December 29th. I was the passenger and the car I was in wasn't at fault. I used to be very capable of helping my sick mother and doing errands, but now I'm stuck in a world of pain and having to get used to the damage and the scars on my arm. Workers' comp isn't covering the bills or the new bills for the increased medication I'm having to be on now.

My landlord was given a check in February of this year, and they took three weeks into March before cashing it to tell me it didn't work (my banking had the money sitting there and it showed nothing had been tried). I had just gotten them money orders instead when they told me I was hit with an eviction notice because we were behind on rent. I ended up borrowing $2k from a friend so I could stop that process. My rent is almost $1k a month and I know I was behind because of the work injury and not being paid sooner or enough to survive. After paying that off, my mother went to a meeting with the landlord and he hit us with an eviction for April when the month wasn't even over. We're scraping by for money for both our meds and all our bills, and I'm not one to usually ask for help, but I'm afraid I have to.

I live in an affordable living area and for many years the landlord charged us max rent when we were on assisted living years ago. We got off because we could sustain ourselves because I'd become an adult and had a decent paying job and we knew another family deserved it. Our landlord has been seeking a way to get us out so he can move in a family who have assisted living benefits because they can charge the state based on the sliding scale law, and they usually charge $1500. I fear the stress of everything is going to be what causes my mother to start having seizures again (she hasn't had a big one in about a year) and I decided to cave and ask for help. She is supposed to have surgery in May which means missing work and she might end up rescheduling it out of worry of this eviction. If you have anything at all to help us that would be amazing. I'm struggling with my recovery and having so many things done at my physical therapy it's like being stretched out like dough, except my therapist said it's stretching the scar tissue on the skin and the muscles. I used to be strong physically but now I feel weak and I'm still out of work and unable to be the person I was a year ago. My mother is disabled and I don't want her killing herself with overtime with her work to the point she gets worse. She's burnt out and stressed, I'm stressed and depressed, but I'd like to be able to do something to help ease her worry about everything. If anyone is able to help with any amount I will be deeply grateful. Sometimes as a young adult you wish your parents can say everything will be fine but now you can see behind the scenes and the silent stress they carry. I've spent years taking care of her and working my ass off and now I'm stuck not allowed to do anything. My ADHD sucks in this regard. You have my deepest appreciation to anyone who is able to help.
