Send Ben to Ireland

If you're reading this, then you're very likely a family member, friend, or co-worker of a one Benjamin Coleman of Lincoln, NE who is scheduled to turn 40 years old on July 24, 2018. That's less than 2 weeks away!! And if you've known Ben for any length of time, then you definitely know these two things about him:
1. Ben has never been to Ireland but he is incredibly proud of his Irish heritage. For years, he has been very active in the Lincoln chapter of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, even serving as the chapter President, he makes shillelaghs (traditional Irish walking sticks) for friends and family, he and his family have hosted numerous St. Padraig's (Patrick's) Day gatherings in their home, and he will be happy to recount a vast quantity of (mostly true) Irish and Irish-American history for you over a pint or six of Guinness.
2. Ben is incredibly loyal to his friends and family, constantly putting their needs and wants ahead of his own.
As such, it's highly unlikely that Ben could ever be talked into spending the money to send himself to Ireland.
That's where we come in. As his friends and family who would love to see him take this sort of a once-in-a-lifetime trip and who would also like to repay him for some of the kind acts and favors that he has done for us over the years, we can pool all of our resources and send him on a trip to the motherland that he will remember (and talk about) until the end of time!
We spoke with a travel agent and she estimated that it will cost about $2500 per person for the type of trip that we have in mind. Ideally we would raise about $5000 and Ben could choose someone to go with him but any amount that you feel like giving towards the cause would certainly be welcomed and the trip can be modified one way or the other based on the total amount raised.
Ben doesn't know about this and we would like to present him with basically a gift certificate for the trip on his birthday, so please don't mention it to him!
Please feel free to message one of us if you have any questions!
