Help Kevin fight Pancreatic Cancer

On October 17th our family received the worst news imaginable our amazing Dad/Husband was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer that had metastasized to his liver.

Dad had been suffering with abdominal/back pain and nausea and was in and out of the hospital and doctor office running test after test since May 2022. Physicians thought it was acid reflux related or gallbladder related. We never expected this horrible disease to be the diagnosis shown on the MRI on 10/17!

Unfortunately my dads pain started to get extreme and he had no option but to go to the ER which lead to him being admitted. My parents had no benefit coverage since my moms had just changed jobs and the new insurance wouldn’t go into effect until 11/01/2022!

Because of the diagnosis during this change my dad was also denied life insurance which my mom has always carried through her employer.

Dad or as all of you know him as Kevin has been through so much in the last 4 months. He has had 2 stent’s placed in his duodenum/biliary duct, he’s had to have a PTC drain (helps drain his liver) and just recently spent the week in the hospital septic with a blood infection. Yet he has continued to hold his head high and fight this battle!!

Dad has a great team of Doctors and has started a chemo regimen called FOLFIRINOX. Every other week he goes home with a 2 day continuous chemo pump! Dad will have to be on chemo for life. There is no cure but we pray the chemo fights the cancer and we can have another year or two with him! He is handling chemo like a champ & hopefully we’ve gotten over the bumps in the road and he can fight this like the fighter he is!

Dads medical bills continue to grow & with not having insurance for the first couple weeks he has already accumulated $40,000 + in medical bills & now has no life insurance. Dad’s biggest worry is he will go sooner then later and leave this burden on his family!
