Barson's Heart

On August 19th Barson suffered from cardiac arrest while speaking at a youth basketball training camp. His heart stopped. Many assisted to help and one of the parents performed CPR until the ambulance arrived. His heart had to be shocked several times before they were able to get a steady heartbeat. He was on a breathing machine in the hospital in a paralyzed state. The major concern at that point was how long he may have gone without getting oxygen to his brain. He's a very healthy and athletic young man that did not have any pre-existing medical conditions that caused this to happen. Barson has a competetive spirit. He was fighting through this and his children, family, friends and all of you prayer warrior's were there to lend your support, love and prayers for his recovery too. The doctors and nurses called him a miracle. Barson had to undergo surgery to insert a defibrillator to protect and monitor his heart. He will need time at home to recover. Unfortunately his job does not provide any paid short term disability leave for his absence and because of this he is trying to rush back to work. He's physically in no condition to return to work at this time. Our family is worried that without some financial assistance with his medical bills he'll rush back to work sooner than he should.
