Ruben Garcia/Brain Cancer Sucks!

Donation protected
My 35 year old son Ruben Garcia had a grand mall seizure on July 3, 2015. I took him to get an MRI on July 17, we were sent to the emergency room after a doctor looked at his scan.  He was then diagnosed with a brain tumor that covered the back right quadrant of his brain.  On July 23rd, he had surgery to remove the tumor.  He was then diagnosed with level three brain cancer, Anoplastic Oligodendroglioma.  August 29th, Ruben started treatment.  He will do thirty three treatments of radiation with chemo.  Radiation is five days a week, chemo is everyday.  When finished he will get one month off and then start back with a higher dose of chemo, no radiation, for one week out of every month for one year.

Before this happened Ruben was on top of his game. He had just bought a condo, his job was good, life was good.  Ruben has not worked since the seizure. He has lost some of his peripheral vision due to the tumor. We are hoping he will get any lost vision back with time. Myself and other family take Ruben to his appointments and any other errands he may have.  Hopefully, Ruben will be able to go back to work at least part time soon, eventually full time.   It will depend on how he feels due to treatment.

We are asking for donations to help with Rubens medical and living expenses.  Ruben has medical insurance that is being paid for out of pocket. He has a seven thousand dollar deductible and 2016 is right around the corner. He will  have to meet the same deductible again. We are trying to keep Ruben at his condo in the same life style he had before. Ruben is not an extravagant person and his sister has moved in with him and helps by paying rent. Ruben will need medical procedures for years to come.

Asking for help is hard but I believe a medical situation of this magnitude warrants it.  If you would like to donate you can mail checks to 1stBank, 4775 Front Street, Castle Rock, CO 80104, made payable to Ruben Garcia. A benefit fund has been set up in his name.  Any 1stBank can accept donations. Family and freinds you have my address if you would like to go that route, or just use gofundme it's easy.

I would never have imagined us in this situation. It sucks! However I am trying to stay positive and look to better days. God knows there are people in worse situations.  I still count the many blessings in my life to get through this.  If you are able to donate financially we are  very appreciative, if not, we we still need prayers, positive energy and good thoughts.  For that we are also gratefull. I pray your life is good and going well. Thank you for reading our story in its short version.
