Uptown Christmas Cash Relief Fund

Donation protected

The Uptown Community Partners are a group of community organizers, residents, and businesses that come together to support the Uptown Community at large. Our intention with this fundraiser is to assist those most in need during this holiday season. The “Christmas Cash Relief Fund” will specifically assist undocumented families residing within Inwood, Washington Heights, and the Bronx. With limited to no job opportunities in sight, food insecurity on the rise, people struggling with mental health issues, not being able to qualify for governmental aid, and we believe the worst is yet to come in the form of a housing crisis. We want to have an immediate response to these immediate needs within our community. They need us right now!

***********FUNDRAISER UPDATE***********

We are so grateful to everyone that donated to the original goal amount of $2000 of which will go 100% directly to NMIC.org,  a not-for-profit organization that serves some of the most underrepresented in Northern Manhattan and the Bronx.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH THE FUNDS:

1. We will distribute 10 gift cards of $200 each to 10 families from NMIC.
2. We will donate a $200 gift card to the INHISNAME UNITED INC. Toy Drive in Partnership with other Community Partners.
3. We will donate a $200 gift card to Dyckman Diary's “Neighbors of Dyckman” video series.
4. All the excess funds will be donated solely to The Uptown Restuarant Relief Fund to help laid-off families.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY - THIS IS HOW WE DO IT!

Our main intention is to spread holiday cheer to families in the form of gift cards so they can bring in the season with some sort of stress relief and with a sense of integrity.

With that said, we are now solely, raising money for the laid-off families of UPTOWN NYC RESTAURANTS *who are not receiving unemployment or any other government aid.*

The Uptown Restaurant Holiday Relief Fund is a fund that will support restaurant owners in helping the employees that have helped them the most during the pandemic and have been affected by the lockdowns during the pandemic.

On Sunday, Dec 20th, the fundraiser will come to an end. Once we meet our goal to support all the important holiday community initiatives, we will share testimonials of the families we helped vs. taking photos in an effort to respect the struggles of the families we are helping. We will post a thank you letter from NMIC and the Restaurant Owners for social proof, so we hope that works, but this is how we are doing it. : )

For everyone else who can't donate at this time, please share the donation link with them and ask others to share, and that will be just as helpful. If you can do all of the above in light of the community spirit and those struggling in our community, then God bless you and your blessings.

If you would like to support, donate, or volunteer to any of these holiday initiatives please reach out directly to Pianca, Euridicis, Miguel, or Sandy via dm. IG Handles: @miguelplaza24 @piancapink, @euridicisb, @arenosa_ladyj_

Thank you in advance for your support and for always showing up for the Uptown Community!
