Hello friends!
I wanted to thank you all for your generosity and support for Kaitlyn this past year. Every bit of it helped immesnly, but her fight is not over yet. Kaitlyn is doing well and is gaining her strength back, she still has a long way to go! Here is a personal update from her!

"Hello friends, family and well wishers! I cannot tell you how much the outpour of support meants to me. Though I'm not a very emotional person, I couldn't help but cry when I read everyones messages. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!!
Most of you know the first part of my story, but so much has happened since I last filled you in. So here is a racap and update: November 2016, doctors found a mass on my right kidney and found it to be a tumor. A biopsy couldn't be done until the tumor came out, so January 11th, 2017 I had surgery to remove the tumor and my right kidney. Tests confirmed that it was in fact, cancer. Papillary Renal Cell Carcinoma to be exact. While doctors were confident they took everything out during surgery, that March I found out the cancer had moved to other organs. In April, I started a trial chemotherapy drug in hopes that something would change, but unfortunately, this drug made me extremely sick and I ended up in the hospital. While I was there it was discoverd that the cancer had also moved to my right femur bone, making it weak and brittle. As a preventative step, I had surgery to place a metal rod into by bone as reinforcement. That July, my doctor started me on a new chemotherapy drug. A month later I went in for my first scan, and came out with positive results. The new drug was working, my tumors were shrinking, and my infected bones were healing!
Recovery has been a process and I've had to learn to slow down, but stopping is not an option for me. My physical therapist has recently given me the okay to start going to the gym to build up my stamina and strength. It's gonna take a while to get to where I need to be, but picking my life back up, getting healthy, and getting back to a degree of normal are my current goals. Again, I cannot thank each and every one of you enough. Your support had meant the absolute world to me.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
-Kaitlyn"
