is a video series project birthed from our desire to ignite empathy by exploring slavery’s impact on today’s culture. For nearly a year, our family has been traveling around the United States, following and recording historical journeys to more deeply understand and appreciate the struggles and successes of the generations before us. We are currently visiting significant historical sites around the United States to unearth the difficult truths of American slavery.
After only a few stops on our American Slavery tour, our lives have been dramatically touched. Maya Angelou said, "History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again." We are seeing, hearing, and touching history that is rarely, if ever, taught in schools. It is imperative that we share the whole of our nation's history with this generation so that we can learn, heal, and avoid the mistakes of the past.
But these life-changing treasures are too important to keep to ourselves. In order to effectively share what we believe is sure to be a powerful video series, we need to raise $70,000. Funds will cover our production costs, institutional fees, equipment, advertising, and marketing expenses. Funds raised will be used immediately to enhance the educational experience and produce the highest quality videos possible.
Your contribution will allow us the time and resources to share these important historical truths with families, churches, educational organizations and schools around the world through our YouTube channel, Doing Life Deliberately (click HERE
to visit Doing Life Deliberately). We knew this particular journey would be powerful, but we did not anticipate our experience to enlighten us to the state of racial tensions in today's culture. With your help, we can unveil slavery's enduring impact on our country and help move forward the process of racial reconciliation by sharing our learning journey with others.
Thank you so much for your support!
