<div>My mother has suffered from a severe eye disease called Graves' disease for 29 years, which began shortly after my father's death. This disease caused her eyes to protrude from their sockets, necessitating nine eye surgeries.

<div>Without these surgeries, she would have almost gone blind.

<div>Because of this disease, my mother is forced to wear special glasses called prism glasses, as she otherwise sees double vision.

<div>Because my mother's eyes still protrude slightly, making her very sensitive to light, she has to wear dark glasses even indoors, not just outdoors.

<div>I (her son) was only two years old at the time, and she had to care for me without any help.

<div>Since she urgently needs new glasses, which cost at least €3,000 (and the health insurance only covers €5 per lens), and she is unable to afford these high costs due to her disability pension, we unfortunately have to turn to you for support.

<div>Her glasses are very old and no longer provide adequate protection from daylight, so unfortunately, a new pair is essential.

<div>Meine Mutter hat seit 29 Jahren eine schwere Augenkrankheit namens "Morbus Basedow", die kurz nach dem Tod meines Vaters ausbrach. Durch diese Krankheit traten ihre Augen aus den Augenhöhlen, dementsprechend musste sie ganze 9 Augen-Operationen durchstehen.

<div>Durch diese Krankheit ist meine Mutter dazu gezwungen, spezielle Brillen zu tragen, die sogenannte Prismenbrille, weil sie sonst alles doppelt sieht.

<div>Weil die Augen meiner Mutter immer noch etwas vorstehen, und sie dadurch sehr lichtempfindlich ist, muss sie sogar in den Räumen und nicht nur außen eine dunkle Brille tragen.

<div>Ich (der Sohn) war zu dem Zeitpunkt gerade einmal 2 Jahre alt und sie musste sich parallel ohne Hilfe um mich kümmern.

<div>Da sie dringend eine neue Brille braucht und die Kosten hierfür mindestens 3000€ betragen (und die Krankenkasse leider nur pro Glas 5€ dazu zahlt) und sie dazu aufgrund ihrer Erwerbsunfähigkeitsrente nicht in der Lage ist, diese hohen Kosten aufzubringen, müssen wir uns leider an euch wenden und um Unterstützung bitten.

<div>Ihre Brille ist schon sehr viel älter und bietet keinen Schutz mehr vor dem Tageslicht, deswegen ist eine Neuanschaffung leider unabdingbar.
