<div>Kiwi ist ein verschmuster, kleiner Kater, der mir hier in Bulgarien in den letzten Wochen immer wieder auf der Straße aufgefallen ist – vor allem wegen seines jungen Alters sowie seiner extrem menschenbezogenen und anhänglichen Art. Aufgrund der immer kälter werdenden Nächte und der bevorstehenden kalten Jahreszeit habe ich ihn bei mir aufgenommen und er befindet sich nun in tierärztlicher Behandlung.

<div>Am Donnerstag haben wir innerhalb von zehn Tagen bereits den dritten Tierarzttermin. Er wird auf etwa 7–10 Monate geschätzt und leidet leider an einer starken Zahnfleischentzündung (Gingivitis). Kiwi hat bereits ganz tapfer eine Antibiotikatherapie sowie drei Injektionen hinter sich gebracht. Nach aktuellem Stand kann ein eosinophiles Granulom leider noch nicht ausgeschlossen werden, was weitere, möglicherweise langfristige Behandlungen erforderlich machen könnte.

<div>In naher Zukunft stehen Impfungen zur Grundimmunisierung, der EU-Heimtierausweis, Bluttests (inkl. FIV / FeLV), mögliche weitere Kortison-Therapien sowie eine Kastration an.

<div>Ich möchte Kiwi ein möglichst artgerechtes, gesundes und hoffentlich schmerzfreies Leben ermöglichen und wäre daher – gerade als Studentin – für jede Unterstützung sehr dankbar. <div>Kiwi is a cuddly little male cat who caught my attention here in Bulgaria on the streets over the past few weeks, especially because of his young age and his extremely affectionate and people-oriented nature. As the nights have become increasingly cold and winter is approaching, I took him in and he is now receiving veterinary care.

<div>This Thursday will already be our third vet visit within just ten days. He is estimated to be around 7–10 months old and unfortunately suffers from severe gingivitis (gum inflammation). Kiwi has bravely completed an antibiotic treatment and has already received three injections. At this stage, an eosinophilic granuloma still cannot be ruled out, which could require further and possibly long-term treatment.

<div>In the near future, he will still need vaccinations to achieve full immunisation, an EU pet passport, blood tests (including FIV / FeLV), possible additional cortisone therapy, as well as neutering.

<div>I would like to give Kiwi a species-appropriate, healthy and hopefully pain-free life and would therefore be truly grateful for any support – especially as a student.
