Es bedeutet mir sehr viel, wenn du dir kurz die Zeit nimmst, um mehr über mein Herzensprojekt zu erfahren. Im September/Oktober 2024 war ich im Rahmen eines Volunteers mit einer Organisation in Tansania. Dort wurde ich an die "Almo School" in der Region Arusha geschickt, eine der ärmsten Schulen der Gegend. Die Schule wurde von einem engagierten Ehepaar gegründet, um den Kindern in ihrem Bezirk Zugang zu Bildung zu ermöglichen.
Was als kleines Projekt begann, ist inzwischen stark gewachsen: 
 Heute besuchen über 60 Kinder im Alter von wenigen Monaten bis ca. 8 Jahren die Schule, von der „Daycare“ über die Vorschule bis zur Grundschule.
 Schnell habe ich durch verschiedene Ereignisse und mein eigenes Engagement einen engeren Kontakt zum Gründerpaar aufgebaut. Bis heute bin ich mit ihnen befreundet und erhalte regelmäßige Updates über die Schule.
 Neben meinem Volunteer-Einsatz habe ich mich privat weiter engagiert. 
Durch eine erste Spendenaktion konnte ich bereits einiges ermöglichen: * neue Schulmaterialien und Schreibwaren
 * Tische, Stühle und Regale
 * Spielzeug für die Kleinsten
 * Betten für die Kinder in der Daycare
 * die Finanzierung von drei Lehrkräften für ein ganzes Jahr
 * ein tägliches Mittagessen für alle Kinder
 * und einen Schulkoch
 Doch der Bedarf wächst weiter: Die Schule wurde nach meiner Abreise mit Hilfe der bisherigen Spendengelder weiter ausgebaut. Leider ist der Direktor vor einigen Monaten verstorben, ein schwerer Verlust für die gesamte Schulgemeinschaft. Seine Frau führt die Schule nun alleine weiter und setzt alles daran, das gemeinsame Vermächtnis ihres Mannes fortzuführen. Gerade deshalb braucht sie mehr Unterstützung als je zuvor, um den Kindern weiterhin Stabilität und gute Bildung zu ermöglichen.
Darum starte ich jetzt eine neue Spendenaktion. Ich möchte:
 * englischsprachige Arbeitshefte aus Deutschland besorgen, denn so etwas gibt es dort nicht
 * die bisher erreichten Verbesserungen fortführen und absichern
 * weitere Ausstattung für neue Räume anschaffen dh. alles, was für den wachsenden Schulalltag gebraucht wird. * und zusätzlich die Frau des verstorbenen Direktors sowie ihre fünf Kinder gezielt unterstützen, damit auch sie in dieser schweren Zeit gut versorgt sind und eine Zukunft haben Ich werde Anfang nächsten Jahres wieder selbst vor Ort sein, um die Spenden direkt zu verwenden. Der Großteil wird in Sachspenden fließen, die ich selbst vor Ort einkaufe. Was übrig bleibt, werde ich gezielt nach meinem Aufenthalt überweisen, wenn ich genau weiß, was noch gebraucht wird.

 In September/October 2024, I volunteered with an organization in Tanzania. I was assigned to the "Almo School" in Arusha, one of the poorest schools in the area.
The school was founded by a dedicated couple who wanted to give children in their community access to education. What started as a small initiative has now grown significantly:
Today, more than 60 children, from just a few months old up to around 8 years, attend the school, from daycare to preschool to primary school.
 Through various experiences and my own involvement, I quickly developed a close connection with the founders. To this day, I remain in touch with them and regularly receive updates about the school.  Beyond my volunteer work, I continued to stay engaged privately. Through an initial fundraising campaign, I was able to make a lot possible:
 * new school materials and stationery * tables, chairs, and shelves
 * toys for the youngest children
 * beds for the daycare children
 * the salaries of three teachers for an entire year
 * a daily lunch for all children
 * and a school cook
 But the needs continue to grow:
After I left, the school was further expanded with the help of the donations already raised.
 Sadly, the school’s director passed away a few months ago, a great loss for the entire school community. His wife is now running the school on her own, doing everything she can to carry on the legacy they built together. This is why she needs more support than ever to provide the children with stability and quality education. That’s why I’m starting a new fundraising campaign. I want to:
 * bring English-language workbooks from Germany, as these are not available there * continue and secure the improvements we’ve already achieved
 * provide further equipment for the new classrooms, everything needed for the growing school community
 * and additionally support the late director’s wife and their five children, so that they are cared for and can look forward to a future in this difficult time
 At the beginning of next year, I will be back on site to personally use the donations. Most of the funds will go into material donations, which I will purchase directly there. Any money left over will be transferred after my stay, once I know exactly what else is most needed.
 Every donation – big or small – makes a real difference.
