Unstoppable Tracy aspiring Paralympian!

Thank you for your interest in my funding dilemma. It couldn't have come at a more appropriate moment. All the positive attitude, perseverance and resourcefulness have led me to our friendship as I get ready for the OCRs as an aspiring paralympian.
Despite being born a 4 way amputee I have climbed mountains in Nepal, captained 110 foot tall ships in the Eastern Atlantic and bronze medalist as a paralympian athlete in alpine [that's downhill] skiing.
May 2012 luckily started people noticing me in sailing when accomplished a gold at the Lake Ontario Racing Council (LORC) OPEN ABYC Regatta for 2012. This led to competing in world cup regattas across North America embarking on a Paralympic Sailing Campaign for the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio, Brazil!
My educational background includes earning my Honours Degree in Recreational and Leisure Studies, a B.Ed. with an Integrated Arts specialty, and a Master's in Business Administration from the Rotman School of Business University of Toronto. Professionally I create programs and develop leadership skills in business leaders and front line staff.
January 2013, I was nominated 'Full Card Alternate' in the Paralympic Class by Ontario Sailing under the 2012-2013 Quest for Gold - Ontario Athlete Assistance Program (OAAP). The athletes nominated were selected using the sport specific selection criteria developed by Ontario Sailing. The Canadian Sailing Team have also invited me to their training camps here in Florida in March.
As a result Gold Olympian winner Magnus Liljedahl at Team Paradise, an athletic training program for sailors with disabilities, has generously extended my full scholarship to train here in Miami by two more months February and March.
The Paralympic Sailing Campaign for the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio, Brazil will take a lot of time, dedication, determination and money to achieve this goal. In addition to training, travel and equipment, my largest hurdle is not ability but is the $20,000 I will need for my own boat and sails to be able to be modified to my unique needs as a four way amputee.
Even before getting my own boat, my immediate need is approximately $6,000 to be able to afford rent, food etc to stay for the next two months to be able to take advantage of the wonderful opportunity Team Paradise has extended me.

Thank you for your wonderful support and encouragement already extended! Most appreciative of whatever amount you consider funding me for. I am so grateful for your offer!
Indebtedly yours,

Tracy Schmitt
