UNSTOPPABLE CHANGE is a documentary film currently in pre-production and we invite you to become a sponsor. We will travel to Timor-Leste in June- July 2024 to interview participants and film at the Dili Pride March. We will continue to work in respectful consultation with Arcoiris, the Dili based NGO. Your support is gratefully received and will be acknowledged in the film credits. Thank you!
UNSTOPPABLE CHANGE is a documentary film from award-winning filmmaker Rani Brown at Frogmouth Films. It celebrates the global connections we share as a community, as individuals and as change-makers in a world where human rights are too easily at the mercy of political whims.
From the colour and joy of Sydney World Pride to the bustling streets of Timor-Leste’s Pride March, the LGBTQIA+ community touches every one of us in solidarity.
“When you leave this place and go back to your homes – whether that be across the bridge, across the country or across the seas – we want you to feel part of an unstoppable movement for change.”
– Anna Brown OAM, CEO of Equality Australia
UNSTOPPABLE CHANGE, takes you from Sydney World Pride to the Pride celebrations in Timor-Leste and the LGBT community's struggle for human rights equality.
Mary Waterford, a human rights activist based in the Blue Mountains, leads you into the heart of Timor Leste. Her warmth and wisdom is as infectious as the joy and courage of the LGBT community with whom she works. Mary, pictured above during the World Pride march with Iram Saed, from ARCOIRIS, Timor-Leste, shows us ways in which her long-term connections in Timor-Leste grow from genuine and mutual engagement with human rights issues. She works alongside her Timorese friends, advocating for change.
The money raised will go directly to production costs such as: in country transportation and paying appropriate fees for help with filming at Dili World Pride in June.
Fundraising will not provide a wage or a stipend for filming or editing which is done on a voluntary basis. Any future screenings of the film will serve as fundraisers for Arcoiris Timor-Leste, or will be part of film festivals in an educational capacity, there would not be a monetary gain for the filmmakers for any future film festival screenings.
I am sure you are aware that it isn't just financial help that supports projects, it is the relationships that form and the networks of solidarity that sustain a project or a movement over the longer term. We are so grateful for your support and hope to earn your trust with a lack of shame, a great deal of listening and respecting, a celebration of intersectionality and diversity, of LGBTQIA+ people and a healthy amount of wonder and joy.
