Liebe Nepal Freunde,
Aktuell wird Nepal von Corona überrollt und das kleine Land kommt kaum zum Durchatmen.
Die Menschen haben Angst an COVID zu erkranken und die Menschen haben Angst wie sie mit dem was Corona und der Lockdown an Begleitumständen bringt, überleben sollen.
Der erneute harte Lockdown stellt die Nepalesen wieder vor eine sehr große Herausforderung. Die meisten können ihren Jobs nicht mehr nachgehen die einzige Einnahmequelle für ihre Familien fällt weg.
Verwöhnt mit „Reichtum“ und stattlicher Unterstützung waren Nepalesen noch nie.
Es fehlt an grundsätzlichen Dingen zum Leben wie Lebensmittel und medizinische Versorgung.
Wir sind Bijay und Ines, ein nepalesisch – deutsches Paar und wir arbeiten in der Tourismus Branche in Nepal. Um uns geht es nicht, aber um unsere Freunde, Familie und Mitarbeiter in Nepal.
-Kein Tourismus - keine Einnahmen – keine Perspektiven so "einfach" ist das.
Nahezu 1,5 Jahre haben unsere nepalesischen Freunde, die im Tourismus beschäftigt sind, keine Einnahmen. Wie sehr viele andere Menschen in Nepal auch. Perspektivisch gesehen wird es noch lange Zeit brauchen, bis sich das Leben in Nepal wieder normalisiert.
Die nepalesische Regierung hat den harten Lockdown jetzt noch einmal bis Anfang Juni verlängert und es ist davon auszugehen, dass noch weitere Verlängerungen folgen werden. Es hat uns gefreut, dass in den vergangenen Monaten einige sich kleine Neben Existenzen aufbauen konnten, die wenigstens die monatlichen Kosten zum Teil abdecken konnten. Jetzt ist dies auf Grund des erneuten Lockdowns wieder zu Nichte gemacht. Dazu kommt, dass die Aussicht auf eine erneute Arbeitsaufnahme im Tourismus sehr klein ist. Selbst wenn in Nepal die Corona Lage Reisen wieder ermöglicht, wird es dauern ehe es so läuft wie vor der Pandemie.
Bitte helft uns unseren Leuten in Nepal zu helfen. Es geht um Unterstützung zum Leben. Für Lebensmittel, Mieten, Schulgeld und ärztliche Versorgung.
Wir konnten in der vergangenen Monaten ein klein wenig helfen, auch wenn es ein Tropfen auf dem heissen Stein war. Jetzt wo bei fast allen unserer Freunde die Ersparnisse aufgebraucht sind, brauchen sie unsere Hilfe erneut. Allein schaffen wir das nicht.

Nepal is currently overrun by Corona. Every day the media reports new horror numbers and the small country can hardly breathe.
People are afraid of getting COVID and people are afraid how to survive with what Corona and Lockdown brings.
The renewed hard lockdown is again a very big challenge for Nepalese people. Most of them cannot work anymore and the only source of income for their families is gone.
The Nepalese have never been spoiled with "wealth" and handsome support.
There is a lack of basic needs such as food and medical care.
People who have needed helpful medicines and medical care for years due to other illnesses now have almost no chance.
We are Bijay and Ines, a Nepalese-German couple and we work in the tourism industry in Nepal. It is not about us but about our friends, family and co-workers in Nepal.
-No tourism - no income - no perspectives - it is as "simple" as that.
Since Corona rages, our Nepalese friends and employees have no work and no income. In the meantime it is 1,5 years, in which almost no income comes in. In perspective, it will take a very long time until the situation returns to normal.
Looking back, we are glad that many friends of Nepal supported our people in Nepal in urgent cases. We will never forget that.
We were all the more pleased that some of them were able to build up small side incomes in the past months, which can at least partially cover the monthly costs. Now, due to the renewed lockdown, this has come to a stand still again.
Please help us to help our people in Nepal. It is about support for food, rent, school fees for children and medical care.
