We are experienced film-makers putting everything we have into making the documentary of the year — literally, we’re making a film about 2020, in 2020. It probably won’t win any awards.
The subject matter is obvious — COVID, lockdown, COVID, COVID, lockdown…
We’re trying to do it with some humour, while tackling the most serious subjects and asking some tough questions about the impact of the measures taken in response to this pandemic.
“The story of how, in the early months of 2020 amidst the worldwide Coronavirus scare, Britain subjected itself to a pandemic of fear and anxiety, doing itself untold economic and societal damage by shutting down the economy and failing the most vulnerable.
“Unmasked: The Virus and the Disease” will draw parallels between the medical and the memetic crises, uncover some of the hidden impacts of government and individual responses, and take a cautionary look at the implications of the emerging “New Normal” for our culture and society as the impact sinks in and the year draws to a close.”
Filming is expensive, we are working on donations and the goodwill of crew and suppliers. The BBC license fee is £13.13 per month, please consider donating this amount, but whatever you can afford is gratefully received.
