University of Oxford Seat Deposit

I am raising funds to cover the cost of my course deposit for the Master of Public Policy at the University of Oxford. The course costs $74,503. I intend to finance the course, but this creates two issues: 1) borrowing for the program requires that I complete desk-based research at the school rather than an internship for my Summer Project and 2) the $8,272 deposit is due by May 31, which is before the disbursement date for the lenders with whom the university works. I am raising money to cover this deposit.
I'm a first-generation college student and son of a single mom who completed a triple-major (economics, mathematics, and philosophy). During college, I served as the President of College Democrats and participate in a number of other extracurricular activities. I went on to cofound Mississippi Votes, one of the largest voting rights organizations in Mississippi, before joining Teach for America in the Delta. While in TFA, I partnered with students and my colleagues to help make high-quality college opportunity a reality, getting to see some of my students be selected to give the charge to the incoming corps and go on to programs at some of the best universities in America, all while striving to create a classroom culture built around student voice and mutual understanding. During this time I continued my own advocacy work in the state.
About a year ago, I delayed grad school and moved home to take care of my mother medically and financially after she suffered her third stroke. It was the right thing to do, but I no longer have any personal savings.
The opportunity to complete the MPP is a chance to blend my unique autobiography and skill-set with new tools and knowledge to continue to serve my community. Last fall, I was selected as a finalist for the Marshall Scholarship, one of the most competitive fellowships in the country, and have time and again come so close to making continuing my education a reality, but the truth is that I'm left needing to ask my friends and people of good will for help. I know this comes at a time of so much need for so many, but I will be so grateful for those willing to invest in my potential and the potential of my work, and I hope that my sincerity here is an acceptable substitute for eloquence.
