Unite in the Fight for Tess
Tess is one of those women you count yourself lucky to know. She has the kind of temperament people aspire to see in themselves. A loving mother to Anders and Alexis who are both earning their college degrees, she is a middle school math teacher and tutor in Oviedo, FL. She and her husband, Greg, will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary this June.
This past December, Tess was diagnosed with Adrenal Cancer, an extremely rare and aggressive form of cancer with only a few hundred cases diagnosed each year. With a tumor growing at a staggering rate, Tess underwent major surgery immediately and doctors removed a nearly 6” diameter tumor and one of her kidneys. Despite a first course of radiation and chemotherapy medications, a new tumor has developed in the lymph nodes just 3 months later. The new tumor was discovered when she suffered a near fatal blood clot in her lung. The blood clot is being treated however her care is extremely complex.
What Happens Next
With so few cases diagnosed each year, the need for highly-specialized medical care is vital. Tess is exploring additional opportunities for treatment which may include traveling out of state to locations that specialize in this rare form of cancer.
This will be a difficult fight but with financial resources, Tess will have the ability to travel and get the treatment she needs without worry of how she can afford it or how to help support her family while not at work.
Where the Funds Will Go
Tess will be unable to work as she seeks treatment.
While Greg will continue to work to support the family, there will be a number of expenses. Donations to this account will help to cover their family travel and medical expenses as she seeks care. In addition, the funds will be used to pay for living and household expenses.
