unitē Mental Health and Wellness

Unitē Mental Health and Wellness unitewellness.org, a nonprofit aimed at addressing the lack of mental health resources in our rural community was established earlier this year. We have made a lot of progress but need additional funding to open the doors to the community in early 2022.  

 

The nonprofit was started because we see our community struggle with getting the care that is needed.  It became evident  that individuals needing mental health care did not know where to turn for help .  Although, our area has some great resources already, there is still a shortage of providers.

 

Our goal is to provide a location, currently 1014 College Avenue (former Vision Clinic office) that you can call or visit to discuss your needs. If there is local in-person care available, we will direct you to it. If local care is not available, we will find someone for you. We will arrange for you to meet in the unitē office in Houghton and be connected (via telehealth) with a professional that can address your specific needs.

 

We are credentialed with and will be accepting Medicare, Michigan Medicaid, and BSBSM. More will be added as the community needs are communicated.

 

Funding is needed for electronics, furniture, renovation projects, health records system implementation, rent, utilities, and other operational costs until we are fully operational.

 

We are also accepting donations of the gently used items listed. If you would like to donate any items, please contact us.
