All I Want For Christmas Is A Home

Donation protected
Greetings,

My name is Unique Parsha, and I am asking for help. After becoming a victim of domestic violence, I have been homeless and living in my vehicle since April of this year.  I was mentally, emotionally, and psychologically abused by my ex, and then thrown out of my home with nothing, but my car and my dog.

I am a graduate from San Francisco State University which has left me owing $40,000 in student loans and I have several credit card debts which I used to supplement my income, and are now maxed out.  My car overheated and now needs to be repaired $3000. Although I have a full time job working as a Facebook contingent employee, these roadblocks and low hourly wage make it very difficult for me to save any money towards establishing the upfront cost of a new apartment.  Therefore, I have succumbed to my circumstances of living out of my car.

I have always been caring and known as an advocate for change.  I am passionate about helping others who are oppressed and strengthening the youth in my community.  This desire has led me to starting a nonprofit organization in 2009 called Love n Me.  Love n Me’s mission is to teach girls and women to love themselves despite the negativity around them.  Recently, I stepped out of my comfort zone and shared my story on the Channel 2 News.  It took a lot of courage and strength, however I felt that my experience would bring awareness to the severity of how prevalent homelessness has become.

Many times I wanted to give up and take my life because I was ashamed and embarrassed of being homeless. I became so depressed with many suicidal thoughts. I was hurting so bad inside and very depressed while wearing a smile infront of people. I never thought I would be in this situation, nor a victim to domestic violence, however my goal now is to focus on the future.

I am moving forward in my career and using this experience as an opportunity to learn and grow so I can continue my mission in helping others with a new-found level of compassion and wisdom from having to walk in this rough season of my life. When things get better for me I will be doing everything in my power to help homeless people. Everyone that's homeless isn't on drugs or alcoholics. Some people just can't afford housing due to the high market rates at this time. Rent is ridiculous high!

Your donations will help me with a security deposit,  first and last month’s rent, as well as all the necessities needed to furnish an apartment. ALL my furniture, clothing, etc was taken from me. EVERYTHING will need to be replace.

Thank you in advance for your prayers, encouragements, donations, and support. From the bottom of my heart I want to say Thank You.

God Bless!
