<div>We’ve just learned that the developer behind the warehouse proposal along Route 78 in Union Township in Hunterdon County intends to resubmit their application. This proposed project is not only a threat to our local environment but also poses serious risks to the safety, health, and well-being of our community—especially our children.

<div>The site in question is alarmingly close to our schools, where hundreds of students spend their days learning and playing during recess and doing sports outside. The increased traffic from tractor-trailers and heavy vehicles on nearby roads raises significant safety concerns, especially during school hours. Additionally, the noise and air pollution generated by round-the-clock warehouse operations would impact not just the school environment but also the surrounding neighborhoods.

<div><strong>UnionCAN</strong> is the Union Township Citizens Action Network to advance the interests of the residents of Union Township, in Hunterdon County, in regard to the planned development of a new approximately 600,000+ square feet warehouse complex and other development at 53 Frontage Road adjacent to the Union Township Middle School and just around the corner from our Elementary School.

<div>Our current action is to represent the interests and concerns of the residents and Union Township Community in regards to the impact the warehouse sprawl, planned warehouse complex and other development would have on our existing infra-structure, safety, quality of life, traffic, pollution, noise and the environment and on the community.

<div>Funds raised will be used to fund operations, hire attorneys and other relevant experts to represent the interests of the community in this application to develop 53 Frontage Road as a Warehouse Complex.
</div>

<div>The Citizens Action Network will fight to stop 2 large warehouses on a beautiful undeveloped property, as well as other development. These building plans indicate the warehouse complex to be erected right next to the Union Township Middle School, adjacent to the Union Township Elementary School and residents living right across from the school. Furthermore, there is another already existing residential community right at Exit 11, where trucks are planned to travel to this warehouse complex through.

<div>We are not against warehouses but we ARE against having them so close to our homes and that we are expected to sacrifice our quality of life and community for them. We ARE against them to be located NEXT DOOR to our schools. As citizens and taxpayers we have a fundamental right to a livable community.
