Hola soy Ismael, hijo de Patricia Núñez. Los que conocen a mi mama, saben que ella es una persona que siempre se ha caracterizado por tratar de hacer el bien. Ella es una mujer sumamente trabajadora e independiente y de un corazon generoso. Es tan amable que aunque no te conozca, en nuestro hogar te invitaría un plato de comida con una sonrisa y te ofrecería más hasta que estés satisfecho. Es amante de la naturaleza y las aventuras. Por su manera de ver las cosas y su personalidad, ella es muy querida por todas las personas que logra conocer.
Hace aproximadamente 4 meses, (Mayo 2017) mi mamá sintió una molestia en uno de sus senos. Era un quiste. Se hizo chequear para ver si era maligno o benigno y resultó ser maligno (cáncer).
Como mi mamá trabajaba como corredora de bienes y raíces, no contaba con ningún seguro privado. Tampoco se encontraba afiliada al IESS por lo cual había atrasado su chequeo anual por algunos meses.
Lamentablemente, el chequeo anual se lo realizó ya muy tarde por motivos económicos. El tamaño del quiste era considerable y ya nos preveíamos lo que se venía... El 22 de Mayo del 2017, nos dieron la noticia de que la Patucha, como muchos seres cercanos le dicen, requeriría de Quimioterapias, Radioterapias, Mastectomía (extirpación del seno) y con la posibilidad de tener que realizarse otros tratamientos complicados y costosos. Según el oncólogo, Patricia fue diagnosticada con cáncer de mama a tiempo, pero con las instrucciones de que se haga tratar lo antes posible ya que sino correría un mayor riesgo a que se empeore en un corto periodo. Todo nos cogió por sorpresa y tuvimos que asumir ese momento con mucha fuerza y fe.
La siguiente semana, (Lunes 29 de Mayo) tuvo que empezar el tratamiento de Quimioterapia con una posibilidad que sean de 4 a 8 sesiones dependiendo de la evolución del tumor. Afortunadamente, mi madre ya atravesó las 4 primeras quimios y el tumor se ha reducido en un 40% aproximadamente. Sin embargo, el tumor debe ser extraído lo antes posible con la mastectomía y seguir con las quimioterapias faltantes más la radioterapia. Esas son las tres cosas más urgentes a realizarse por el momento, sin mencionar las medicinas y eventualidades que se presentan en el transcurso de los días.
La finalidad de este crowfunding, es lograr obtener los recursos necesarios para poder terminar todo lo que aún nos queda por delante. Hablo en plural porque mi madre solo vive conmigo, su único hijo. Siempre nos hemos apoyado entre los dos desde que se divorció de mi padre hace 10 años. Lamentablemente fue muy difícil para mi madre poder levantarse debido a un negocio familiar que tuvo que vender por culpa de un mal administrador.
Todos hemos tenido momentos buenos y malos. Sin embargo, gracias a Dios existen personas muy importantes en nuestras vidas que nos han ayudado durante momentos complicados y en especial este de aquí. Lastimosamente, la fuente de ingreso que teníamos para solventar todos los gastos que íbamos a incurrir, no pudo continuar. Hemos estado buscando la mejor manera de poder llevar esta etapa por delante, con mucho amor, siendo fuertes y siendo positivos.
En un principio tuve mis dudas de crear este Gofundme pero debido a la necesidad y al ver que no podría perdonarme si no daba más de mí, estaba obligación de hacerlo y buscar cualquier manera de ayuda para que culminar todo el tratamiento sin mayores inconvenientes. Así también quisiera de su ayuda a todas esas personas que conocen a mi mamá Patricia Núñez.
Familiares, amigos, conocidos y extraños, les agradezco con todo mi corazón que cualquier tipo de ayuda que este a su alcance nos será útil. La meta que nos hemos trazado no es imposible y sabemos que con su ayuda la podremos alcanzar!!

Hello, my name is Ismael Valverde, son of Patricia Núñez. Those who know her know that my mother is a woman who has always been characterized as a good-hearted person, hardworking, independent and so kind that even if you enter our home without knowing her, she would invite you in and offer you a plate of food with a kind smile and make sure you are well taken care of.
About 4 months ago (May 2017) my mom felt a nuisance in one of her breasts, it was a cyst, which she checked further to see if it was malignant or benign. It was malignant (cancer). Unfortunately, her annual health checkup was made late due to economic reasons. My mother who works as a Real Estate Broker had no private insurance and was not affiliated with the health care which ultimately delayed her annual checkup for a few months. The size of the cyst was considerably big and we had already sensed what was coming ... On May 22, 2017, we received the news that Patricia, would require Chemotherapy, Radiotherapies, Mastectomy (breast excision) and with the possibility of having to perform other complicated and expensive treatments.
According to her oncologist, she was diagnosed with breast cancer on time, but with instructions to have it treated as soon as possible.
The following week, (Monday, May 29) she had to start the Chemotherapy treatment with about 4 to 8 sessions, depending on the evolution of the tumor. Fortunately, my mother has already gone through the first 4 chemotherapies and the tumor has been reduced by about 40% but it should be removed as soon as possible with the mastectomy and continue with the missing chemotherapy and radiation. Those are the three most urgent things to do at the moment.
The purpose of this crowdfunding is to be able to obtain the necessary resources to be able to finish everything that still lies ahead, and I speak in plural because my mother only lives with me, her only son. We have always supported each other since she divorced my father 10 years ago and since then it has been very difficult for my mother because she had to sell the business she had with my dad.
There are important people in our lives who have helped us during difficult times and especially this one. Unfortunately, the source of income that we had to cover all the expenses we were going to incur couldn't continue and we have been looking for the best way to be able to take this next chapter ahead, with great strength, love and a positive attitude... At first, I had my doubts to create this GoFundMe but due to the need and the love that I have for my mother I saw myself obliged to do it.
Family, friends, acquaintances and strangers, any help that is within your reach will be useful & I thank you from the bottom of my heart. The goal we have set is not impossible and we know that with your help, we can reach it!!
