Unhoused Winter Community Donation Fund

Donation protected
As winter deepens, Kingston's unhoused community has grown exponentially- and to this we say enough!

The level of support has been incredible, all donations have gone directly to purchasing items included winter coats, food, toiletries, and warm clothing. Kingston's housing crisis has shown no sign of slowing, and none of the support so far has gone unappreciated. Thanks to your donations, a Katarokwi Union of Tenants Food Program has been created! We have been able to take these contributions and turn them into a regular ongoing meal service for Kingston's unhoused community that reaches those who are sometimes unable to attend other meal programs offered in Kingston.

Big thanks again to the staff of the ICH for helping us along and for all those who have donated money and items for those in need! The Integrated Care Hub staff work tirelessly and deserve the utmost recognition for their role in helping Kingston's unhoused community.

The aggregate price of a home in Kingston increased 38.1 per cent year-over-year to reach $722,100 in the fourth quarter of 2021, while the median price of a single-family detached home went up by 44.3 per cent to reach $780,600. With the average 2 bedroom rental costing upwards of $1200.00/month, poverty becomes nearly inevitable.

Please consider a donation to our fund so we can continue to serve nutritious weekly meals and purchase items for these people. As gentrification makes the cost of living increasingly untenable in Kingston, our fight for those housed and unhoused will be harder than ever.

Since last year we have raised over $10,000.00 CAD with every penny of it being used to purchase items and shelter for those in need. Check out a few pictures below for examples of where the donations have gone:
