Unforseen Medical Expenses for Ronquillos

Donation protected
After experiencing severe abdominal and back pain in mid November I was admitted to the hospital for extensive testing.  This included blood work, MRIs, CAT scans, and x-rays.  Unfortunately, a large tumor called a sacral spinal schwannoma, was found invading my lower spinal column.  Only 50 cases of this type of tumor have been reported in medical literature.  As a result, I was flown by life flight immediately to Phoenix to be treated at the Barrow Neurological Institute, because our local hospital systems declined the transfer because they were unequipped to treat the mass .  Multiple specialists are assigned to my case and have since made a plan to have the mass removed involving a four specialty surgical team.  Because of the severity of the mass and its location, I can only be treated by specialists in Phoenix to have the mass removed by an experienced team and have my spinal column reconstructed. The 20 hour surgerywill take place over 2 days, and will require me to be treated and rehabilitated at the Barrow Institute over the course of at least a month of inpatient treatment, where I will be learning to walk again.  Paul and I have already traveled three times to have tests run and meet with surgeons.  Housing in Phoenix is not provided for my family members during my lengthy stay.  Our medical, travel, and living expenses are quickly adding up as I am unable to work for an indefinite amount of time.  We are asking for any help you can provide for us during this difficult time in our lives.  Anything helps.
