UNE Panama Travel Course

Donation protected
Hello friends and family!  My first semester at UNE is coming to a close and I am looking forward to Spring 2020 semester!  Although I can't realistically do a 6 month long study abroad program based on my unique major of Animal Behavior and the large amount of general credits I transferred in, I applied and was accepted into an incredible 10 day "travel course" to Panama.  The course is Ecology and Conservation of a Caribbean Island so I will be learning about terrestrial, island and marine biodiversity, and the ecology and evolution of populations.  I will also get the chance to grow my photography during this trip and hopefully capture photos of a new ecosystem and its wildlife.  We will have the chance to snorkel at Bird Island, a beautiful island that is home to the rare Red-billed Tropic bird.  We will explore caves to learn about bats and unique insects and fish, and even help out important turtles nesting patrols!  We will even get to spend time with the Embera Indigenous people at their village.

I am seeking financial help for this incredible opportunity.  Although I received a scholarship, and have been saving throughout the semester and will work over winter break to save money, I still need to raise $1,750 and I need your help!  I will be enrolled in a class during the semester learning about all the topics we will experience in person in Panama and then we will travel in late May.  I will not only learn a lot from this course and travel experience, but I will be doing something out of my comfort zone and hopefully will grow my nature and wildlife photography and also venture into journalistic style photography as well.

All your support, whether big or small, means the world to me!

Thank you!
