Luis Nunez Jr. survived a house fire in 2015, 95% of his body was burned and disfigured. Since the accident Junior has received numerous functional surgeries but will continue to receive surgeries until he is an adult. Some of the procedures are covered by insurances, but some that are considered cosmetic are not. The out of pocket cost is overwhelming. Although he doesn’t complain about how he looks, he does tend to hide behind a cap and glasses hoping that no will notice him. These cosmetic surgeries not only will help junior physically, it will also help him emotionally.
Recently, Jr. visited the founder and CEO of Angel Faces, Lesia Cartelli, to pick up some gifts. Upon arriving, Jr. and Lesia’s dog Bentley made an instant connection. Jr. trusted Bentley enough to let his guard down by taking off this cap.
