<div>Over the past eight years my uncle has been battling a rare cancer. He has been traveling from the very western part of NJ to NYC for treatments. Throughout his courageous battle he has faced severe side effects, setbacks, and a new understanding of our healthcare system. My aunt and cousin have become fierce advocates, researching and finding the very best doctors and treatments for him. Cancer research has been advancing at such a rapid speed that his doctor has had option after option available to him. However, as with most rare cancers, there comes a time where the many options become limited.

<div>His family has advocated so hard that he’s being reviewed for clinical trial participation in Germany. When they first discussed this trial with their doctor, the hope was the treatment would be in the US when they needed it. Unfortunately, the treatment won’t be available in the US for two more years and his cancer is growing now.

<div>My dear family has to come up with $30,000 to cover the treatment and flights to Germany. To help them with this incredible amount of money we are asking 30 families to pledge to raise $1,000 each. Donations can be made through this page or by mailing a check to them directly.

<div>My aunt has been a teacher’s aide in Phillipsburg, NJ for as long as I can remember. My cousin has been supporting her parents as an incredible patient advocate, friend, and travel companion.

<div>My Uncle Roger is an incredible person. His career was printer turned Home Depot associate. His life has been filled with family trips to North Carolina and Maine, hobby around cars, gardening, mowing grass, and mostly loving the outdoors. Uncle Rog saved my life once when I dressed up as a chicken for Halloween and a German Shepherd really thought I was a chicken. He scared that dog right back to the house where he lived. He has always been the first to help someone in need and would never ask for this effort.
