Uncle Mike needs home care help!

My uncle Mike experienced a rough childhood. His absent father died in prison, and his mom    tried to raise three kids alone, but abuse and neglect plagued Mike’s early years. Though he grew up in the projects, Mike put himself through college, where he endeared himself to friends with his warm, witty personality. Later, he worked hard getting a library degree, and got a steady job after years of struggle.

Finally, he seemed to be creating a stable and secure life, but just then, tragedy slammed into Mike’s life: diagnosed with both advanced kidney disease and diabetes, he was forced to go on three-day-a-week dialysis to survive. He had to leave both his hard-won job and his apartment. Due to mounting health issues related to his kidney problems, Mike has been battling a mountain of medical bills along with his conditions. He survives on Medicaid and a small Social Security payout.

He desperately needs financial assistance to pay for help with home care at this time, as it has become difficult for him to walk and live on his own and that's why we need your help. Michael is barely getting by with his social security checks but is in need of money very quickly in order to help get the care he needs at home.

Michael is a man who has learned a lot about life: he maintains his gentle humor and kind nature, but it’s hard for him to hold up hope for the kind of life most of us take for granted, with a family and job to anchor us. At age 62, Mike is facing his last, best chance to achieve a healthy and happy oasis after the long desert he’s walked.
