House Fire Repair

This is our friend Donny.  He lives right across the street from us.  He’s more than a Neigbor though.  Before we moved in our home of 8 months, he gave yours truly a truck.  We affectionately call him Uncle Donny. He’s kind of like an uncle.  He tells jokes.  He’s clearly very giving. He was born on December 25, 1941 in West Virginia “just after Pearl Harbor!” he says.  He served in the military and he’s lived in his house with his wife since 1992.  His wife has passed away. He never had children. He told us tonight that we are his only friends. Uncle Donny is a simple man, but quite resourceful.  He’s built most of the outside infrastructure on his house and he is pretty knowledgeable about car and home maintenance.  The trouble is, he can’t seem to pay for basic home repairs.  His check from the VA can only stretch him so far.  He suffers from prostate cancer and other health problems, so moving around is hard for him.  We worry about him.  He’s a humble old man.  He takes care of himself well enough for his age.  He doesn’t have gas heat any more because the maintenance was too expensive.  Now he keeps wood for his fire burning stove to keep warm.  Tonight he gave us quite a scare.  All of a sudden we saw flames coming out of his chimney!  Not long after that, fleets of fire trucks came charging in.  After talking with the fire chief, we found out that he is pretty lucky his house didn’t burn down.  Donny isn’t the kind of guy who finds it easy to burden someone if  he needs help.  He’d rather help you.  He needs a total roof repair.  The only thing now that separates the elements from his bedroom is plastic film.  The attic caught fire as a result of a missing brick from the chimney. He does not have home insurance.  We need your help to help a person would help anyone in need if he could.
